The Golden State Warriors has had the most quiet offseason in the NBA, as they have yet to make a single transaction all offseason. The biggest stories for the Warriors has been the uncertain future of Jonathan Kuminga. Following Kevon Looney’s exit to the Pelicans, the Warriors have reportedly reached deals with multiple free agents, including former All-Star Al Horford. However, their contract situation with Jonathan Kuminga is restricting the team’s ability to make significant moves this offseason, as it impacts their salary cap and roster construction.

During his annual training camp, Stephen Curry shared his concerns with Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicles.
“It’s different, for sure,” Curry said. “But my confidence is built on the identity we were able to create over the last third of the regular season last year and the playoff journey.”
According to Gordon, the former MVP also mentioned the urgency for the Warriors to make significant transactions in order to build a roster to contend for the playoffs. On the issue of Kuminga’s contract situation, Curry said, “you control what you can control.”
“The veteran presence that we have — me, Jimmy (Butler), Draymond (Green) — we understand how to prepare through that uncertainty and hit the ground running in training camp knowing we should have some movement by then,” Curry said, per Gordon.
In short, the former MVP is confident that his teammates are going to be prepared for the 20205-2026 season, regardless of the uncertainty in roster construction. Although Curry expressed his confidence, he also seems to be concerned for the Warriors roster. He highlighted the importance for the Warriors to make significant transaction this offseason, which shows he does not believe the current roster will be enough to contend. Nonetheless, the 2 times MVP is confident in himself and the Warriors front office, as he prefers to leave the responsibility and decisions to them.
