Lebron’s agent Rich Paul has been dropping bombs lately on debates relating to Lebron. This time, Rich Paul has ended up with one of the biggest controversies.
“If Steph wins in the bubble, do they discredit it? No, they don’t.”
– Rich Paul
So, does this quote make sense? More importantly, is he correct anyways? Well, looking back, the 2020 Bubble is certainly one of the weirdest seasons in NBA histories. The players had to adapt to a completely new environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the Walt Disney World in Florida. Fortunately for the Lakers, the superstar duo of Lebron James and Anthony Davis led the team to the 2020 finals.

Realistically, it is impossible to know whether Stephen Curry would get as discredited as Lebron for winning the 2020 championship. However, with the stories and comments we’ve heard through the past decade, it is safe to say that the Lakers star is among the most hated players by many fan-bases. With this in mind, since Lebron was the one who led the Lakers to the championship, it makes a lot of sense for Lebron to be discredited to be winning the ring in the bubble.
Is it fair to Put it this way?
Although we don’t know the real answer (since Curry didn’t win the championship), it may be said that Lebron would be the among one of the most discredited players to win the ring. However, objectively speaking, it isn’t totally fair to put it this way. Apart from the fact that Curry has been discredited very much for his championships too, it is safe to say that any star would be discredited for winning the Bubble ring.
However, to be fair, Players have talked about how the Bubble is actually fair and isn’t as ‘easy’ as most people are talking about.
Conclusion
Overall, it is true that any star who would’ve won the championship would’ve been discredited for winning because of the odd circumstances of the Bubble. However, Rich Paul may be correct for claiming Lebron to be more discredited than Curry and other stars. During the 2019-20 playoffs, LeBron averaged 27.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game. Although it was an odd championship, the Finals MVP certainly deserved it, and it may be safe to say that he is discredited more than other stars.
