Finishing the regular season as the 3rd seed and making the playoffs, the Kings had one of their best seasons in years. In fact, last season was their first winning season and their first playoff appearance since 2005-06, which was 17 years ago. The Kings looked like they are one of the teams with the brightest future with their coach of the year Mike Brown and their talented core. These are the biggest moves the ‘Beam Team’ Kings made during the NBA Free Agency

1. Resigning Their Players
Before entering Free Agency, there were questions related to letting Harrison Barnes go, whether the Kings should resign Sabonis, and many more. However, the Kings managed to bring back the entire team while clearing off some cap space with trades. The following are the resigning deals for the Kings:
- Domantas Sabonis, 5 years/217 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
- Harrison Barnes, 3 years/54 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
- Trey Lyles, 2 years/16 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
- Kessler Edwards, 2 years/3.5 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
11. Trades
The Kings made some major trades this offseason. One in clearing off cap space on draft night and the other by acquiring yet another valuable young talent.
Trade 1
- Kings Trade: Richaun Holmes, 24th pick (Olivier-Maxence Prosper)
- Mavericks Trade: Cash Consideration
Trade 2
- Kings Trade: 2028, 2030 2nd round picks
- Pacers Trade: Chris Duarte
The acquisition of Chris Duarte adds another young talent to the kings and improves the wing depth the kings need. By trading away Richaun Holmes, the Kings clear off a lot of salary to be able to sign or trade in the future.
111. New Signing
Conclusion
Coming off an amazing season, the young Kings also mastered their Free Agency. They brought back their 3rd seeded roster, cleared off a lot of cap space, and barely traded anything for Chris Duarte. The Kings now have a flexible cap for them to make more signings or trades in the future, as they are the 4th lowest paid team in the entire league. If they keep can developing De’aaron Fox, Keegan Murray, and the rest of the core while keeping this core together, the Kings will certainly be an exciting playoff team for the next few seasons. If they can even acquire another star from a trade, they could eventually become a serious contender. Overall, the Kings are certainly one of the teams with the brightest future.
