Coming off a deep playoff run to the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers proved that they had one of the best rosters in the league. They managed to upset the 2nd seeded Grizzlies, eliminate the dynasty Warriors, and only lose to the eventual champions. Lucky for them, the lakers managed to successfully resign most of their role players at great prices, which includes:

  • Austin Reaves, 4 years/56 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
  • D’Angelo Russell, 2 years/37 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
  • Rui Hachimura, 3 years/51 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
  • Jarred Vanderbilt 1 year/4.7 million (Team Option, eligible for resign Sep 7.) per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN

2. Free Agent Signings

Rob Pelinka has truly put on a show for the Lakers fans this Free Agency, as he successfully signed multiple great free agents, making the Lakers one of the most stacked teams in the league. These signings are the main reasons the Lakers are such big winners in this year’s free agency.

The Lakers signed a variety of great role players to fill in their depth on deals including:

  • Gabe Vincent, 3 years/33 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
  • Cam Reddish, 2 years/4.6 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
  • Jaxson Hayes, 2 years/veteran minimum per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN
  • Taurean Prince, 1 year/4.5 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN

On Draft Night, the Lakers drafted combo guard Jalen Hood-Schifino from Indiana at No. 17 and wing Maxwell Lewis from Pepperdine at No. 47. THey signed Jalen Hood Schfino and he immediately proved himself as a reliable future for the lakers during Summer League. They signed him to a contract worth 4 year/17 million (Rookie Contract) per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Conclusion

Because of these amazing signings, the Lakers has proved themselves as the biggest winner of the offseason. They barely loss any piece of their Western Conference Finals team, and gained an addition of 4 great role players and a youngblood in Jalen Hood Schifino. With this new stacked roster, the Lakers are now one of the favorites to win the championship next year.
